The number of materials available for 3D printing is closely linked to the 3D printing solution used and and its openness to materials.
In fact, by choosing a so-called “closed” machine (where the consumable is developed and sold by the machine supplier), the user will be limited by its innovation potential and the ability to sell new raw materials. In addition, the material cost will be much higher than its equivalent in pellets, because the manufacture of specific formats (filaments, resins, powders, etc.) requires additional manufacturing steps, formulation and composition adjustments.
